De FOX Sports DOC: ‘Van Beerta naar Bergamo’ over voormalig FC Groningenverdediger Hans Hateboer gaat zondagavond 16 februari om 21.00 uur in première. De documentaire is te zien op FOX Sports kanaal 1.
Hans Hateboer verruilde begin 2017 plotseling het shirt van FC Groningen voor dat van Atalanta Bergamo. De rechtsback maakte sindsdien mooie successen mee met Atalanta zoals plaatsing voor de Champions League en het behalen van de Italiaanse bekerfinale. Het had echter niet veel gescheeld of de in het Groningse Beerta geboren Hateboer was nooit in de Italiaanse Serie A terecht gekomen. Want in de opleiding van FC Groningen was hij regelmatig een bespreekgeval en waren er twijfels of de club wel met hem door moest gaan.
In “Van Beerta naar Bergamo” gaat Hateboer terug naar het schoolplein in Beerta, het Hans Hateboerveld, waar hij als kind elke dag voetbalde. Ook bezoekt de Oranje-international zijn oude amateurclub THOS. Daarnaast zien we hem in Bergamo en vertelt hij over het leven en voetballen in Italië. Naast Hateboer zelf komen vele andere betrokkenen aan het woord zoals zijn ouders, zijn broers Koen en Thijs en oud-trainers die vertellen dat Hateboer er in de jeugd nooit bovenuit stak. Toch speelt hij nu wekelijks in de Serie A.
“Van Beerta naar Bergamo” wordt zondagavond 16 februari om 21.00 uur uitgezonden op FOX Sports kanaal 1. De FOX Sports DOC wordt maandagavond 17 februari om 22.55 uur herhaald op kanaal 3. Een dag later is de DOC om 22.00 uur te zien op kanaal 1 en woensdag 19 februari om 20.00 uur op kanaal 1.
