Januari 2016 staat voor FC Groningen in het kader van ‘Maand van Historie’. Een maand waarin precies tien jaar geleden na liefst 73 jaar afscheid werd genomen van het aloude Oosterparkstadion en waar de huidige Euroborg haar feestelijke opening kende met een oefenwedstrijd tegen BV Veendam, gevolgd door een eerste (gewonnen) competitiewedstrijd tegen SC Heerenveen.
FC Groningen wil deze historische feiten niet onopgemerkt voorbij laten gaan. In de aanloop naar de ‘Maand van Historie’ wil het Supporterscollectief in samenwerking met FC Groningen van zich laten horen. Twee projecten van het Collectief passen immers perfect in dit kader: het verfraaien van de spelerstunnel en het realiseren van de FC Groningen Experience, het nieuw op te richten FC Groningen-museum in de voormalige Fanshop in Euroborg. Mutsen Rond de thuiswedstrijd van komende zondag tegen Feyenoord werken het Supporterscollectief en FC Groningen samen door middel van de verkoop van groen-witte kerstmutsen en de oproep aan supporters om zich middels een foto te laten vereeuwigen in de spelerstunnel.
Zowel het Supporterscollectief als FC Groningen hoopt op een positieve en ruimhartige medewerking van vele supporters. FC Groningen is een prachtige volksclub van het heden, een club met toekomst, maar zeker ook een club met een rijk verleden. Dat verleden visueel vastleggen en bewaken zou een ieder, die FC Groningen een warm hart toedraagt, moeten aanspreken. Dus de collectieve oproep richting zondag luidt: doe mee!
