Zondag 7 juli wordt in en rond Euroborg de jaarlijkse Open Dag van FC Groningen gehouden, georganiseerd door Organisatiebureau FC Groningen.
Vanaf 12.00 uur zijn de terreinen rond de Boumaboulevard en het stadion geopend. Om 13.30 uur is de traditionele spelerspresentatie op het hoofdveld, dit jaar gepresenteerd door RTV Noord-coryfee en bekende Groninger Piet van Dijken. Het open huis eindigt om 17.00 uur.
Voor jong en oud is er tijdens de Open Dag van FC Groningen van alles te beleven en te doen. Voor kinderen zijn er volop attracties op parkeerplaats P2, gelegen aan de Boumaboulevard voor Euroborg, zoals een Kidsplein en diverse artiesten, onder wie Orange Skyline (winnaar POPgroningen Talent Award) en René Becker, zorgen voor de muzikale omlijsting.
De presentatie van spelers en staf in het stadion begint om 13.30 uur op het hoofdveld. Deze spelerspresentatie wordt vanaf 12.15 uur vooraf gegaan door een wedstrijd tussen Oud FC Groningen en een team van supporters FC Groningen, opererend onder de naam ‘Dream Team van Supporters’. Bij Oud FC Groningen komen onder anderen Barend Beltman, Edwin Olde Riekerink, Richard Vennema, Ronald Steenge en Walter Waalderbos in actie. Tussendoor zal de band Mooi Wark optreden in het stadion.
Na de spelerspresentatie zullen de selectiespelers van FC Groningen zich verspreid over het terrein onder het publiek begeven voor het uitdelen van handtekeningen en zijn zij beschikbaar voor foto’s. Piet van Dijken zal naast de spelerspresentatie ook het discussieforum leiden op het podium dat wordt opgebouwd op P2. Aan het forum zullen algemeen directeur Hans Nijland, hoofdtrainer Erwin van de Looi en een speler uit de eerste selectie deelnemen. Supporters kunnen bij die gelegenheid vragen stellen aan het FC-trio.
Bezoekers aan de Open Dag kunnen net als in voorgaande jaren ook dit jaar weer een stadion tour door Euroborg volgen. Tijdens de Open Dag bestaat ook de mogelijkheid een seizoenkaart te kopen voor het Eredivisieseizoen 2013/2014.
