Komende zondag voorafgaand aan FC Groningen-ADO Den Haag zullen zes oud-FC’ers in Euroborg afscheid nemen van het publiek. Het gaat om Andreas Granqvist, Shkodran Metaj, Jeroen Veldmate, Serhat Koç, Norair Mamedov en Michael Janssen.
Andreas Granqvist speelde sinds 2008 bij FC Groningen en maakte in 116 wedstrijden liefst 24 doelpunten. In 2010 werd hij uitgeroepen tot Speler van het Jaar. Hij vertrok afgelopen zomer naar Genoa in de Italiaanse Serie A.
Shkodran Metaj en Jeroen Veldmate kwamen in 2000 in de jeugdopleiding van FC Groningen. Metaj speelde 43 keer in de hoofdmacht en maakte onlangs de overstap naar FC Emmen. Jeroen Veldmate speelde 17 wedstrijden in het eerste elftal en maakte inmiddels zijn debuut voor Sparta Rotterdam.
Serhat Koç kwam in het seizoen 2009/2010 dertien keer in actie en speelt inmiddels weer voor zijn oude club FC Eindhoven. Norair Mamedov speelde sinds 2004 in de jeugd en kwam tot zes duels in het eerste elftal, voordat hij de stap naar FC Zwolle maakte. Michael Jansen speelde in het seizoen 2009/2010 drie duels in het eerste en speelt inmiddels bij Go Ahead Eagles.
