Jan Wegereef is komende zaterdag in Euroborg de scheidsrechter bij het duel tussen FC Groningen en sc Heerenveen. Aanvang is 18.45 uur. Wegereef wordt geassisteerd door de heren Van Dongen, Rutgers en Abbink.
Voor Wegereef, die eerder dit seizoen het duel Roda JC-FC Groningen (2-1) floot, is het zijn twaalfde duel in Euroborg. Op 22 april 1990 floot hij FC Groningen voor het eerst, in de thuiswedstrijd tegen Sparta (2-2).
In de ranglijsten van FC Groningen bereikt Jan Wegereef de gedeelde eerste positie. Hij evenaart namelijk Jan Keizer die 48 officiële wedstrijden van FC Groningen onder zijn leiding had. Dat is het hoogste aantal.
Met 38 Eredivisieduels is hij aanstaande zaterdag nog twee duels verwijderd van het record van John Blankenstein dat sinds 1996 op 40 Eredivisieduels staat.
