Op dag 4 van het trainingskamp zijn weer twee veldtrainingen afgewerkt. De ochtendsessie stond vooral in het teken van partijvormen en afwerken. In de middag was een deel van de groep op het veld, een deel in het krachthonk en een ander deel op de mountainbike. Vrijdagmiddag kunnen 23 spelers in actie komen tegen KV Oostende.
Tijdens de ochtendsessie op het veld in Costa Ballena – temperatuur rond de 18 graden, bewolkt en af en toe een spatje regen – waren alle spelers actief en waren Mimoun Mahi (bovenbeen) en Sergio Padt (enkel) individueel aan het trainen. De overige 21 veldspelers en beide doelmannen zijn vrijdagmiddag vanaf 14.00 uur beschikbaar. Zij kunnen allen 15 tot 90 van de 120 speelminuten in actie komen.
In Montecastillo verkende teammanager Bas Roorda alvast het speelveld voor vrijdagmiddag. De wedstrijd wordt gespeeld op de velden bij de plaatselijke golfbaan, vlak naast het racecircuit van Jerez de la Frontera. De Belgische nummer 2, KV Oostende, heeft zijn trainingskamp daar op het complex met 2,5 voetbalveld.
Het ligt op circa driekwartier rijden van Costa Ballena, waar FC Groningen verblijft. De wedstrijd van vier keer een halfuur zal rond 16.30 uur afgelopen zijn en rond 18.00 uur wordt de selectie terug verwacht in het hotel in Costa Ballena.
