De oefenwedstrijd van FC Groningen tegen Cercle Brugge op zondag 21 juli is nog niet definitief. Hoewel beide clubs een akkoord hebben bereikt over het oefenduel in het Jan Breydelstadion hebben de lokale autoriteiten in België nog geen groen licht gegeven.
De oefenwedstrijd in de Belgische kuststad, die onderdeel moet uitmaken van de zogenaamde ‘Fandag’ van Cercle Brugge (vergelijkbaar met de Open Dag van FC Groningen – red.), is populair onder de FC-supporters. FC Groningen wil supporters, die voornemens zijn in het weekeinde van 21 juli naar Brugge te reizen, erop wijzen dat de wedstrijd onder voorbehoud op het programma staat en hierdoor nog altijd de mogelijkheid bestaat dat het oefenduel geen doorgang kan vinden.
Uiterlijk eind volgende week verwacht FC Groningen de definitieve toestemming en bevestiging van de collega’s uit Brugge te ontvangen. Pas vanaf dat moment staat het duel officieel op de agenda.
