Afgelopen zaterdag werden ruim 130 vrijwilligers van 65 voetbalclubs, aangesloten bij het Amateurconvenant, door FC Groningen en hoofdsponsor Essent in het zonnetje gezet. Ze werden op deze wijze bedankt voor de onmisbare inzet die zij wekelijks leveren voor hun club.
Oud FC-speler en huidig jeugdtrainer Hugo Alves Velame sprak samen met accountmanager Ben Haverkort de enthousiaste vrijwilligers toe. “Ook FC Groningen is afhankelijk van de vele vrijwilligers, zo’n 400, die op wedstrijddagen actief zijn,” aldus de voormalig topscheidsrechter.
Na de lunch zochten de vrijwilligers hun plekje op in Euroborg om de Trots van het Noorden te zien schitteren tegen PSV. Wapperaars Er was nog een activiteit binnen het Amateurconvenant. Het waren ditmaal namelijk de F-pupillen van SV Bedum die afgelopen zondag heel even mochten proeven hoe het is om op de middenstip van het Euroborg-stadion te staan. Wapperend met het Essent-shirt moedigden ze de profs van FC Groningen aan in de thuiswedstrijd tegen PSV Eindhoven. Thijl Adrichem, coördinator van de F’jes gaf de club uit het Noorden op voor het wapperen: “Het is fantastisch om een wedstrijd bij te mogen wonen en de openingsceremonie te doen.” Wapperen op uitnodiging van hoofdsponsor Essent De F-jeugd van de club uit Bedum waren aanwezig op uitnodiging van hoofdsponsor Essent. Verenigingen die zijn aangesloten bij het Amateurconvenant FC Groningen kunnen hun jeugdteams opgeven als wapperaar bij thuiswedstrijden van de club. Essent nodigt clubs met de leukste aanmeldingen via www.essent.nl/fc uit in de Euroborg.
