Zondagmiddag om 12.30 uur staat de wedstrijd tussen Vitesse en FC Groningen in Gelredome onder leiding van scheidsrechter Jan Wegereef. Hij wordt geassisteerd door de heren Gerritsen, Schenkels en Abbink.
Wegereef floot eerder dit seizoen FC Groningen – AZ (1-1) in Euroborg. Dat was de vijftigste keer dat hij een officieel duel van FC Groningen onder zijn leiding had. In 1990 was FC Groningen – Sparta (2-2) in het Stadion Oosterpark de eerste.
Er is geen scheidsrechter in het betaalde voetbal die meer wedstrijden van FC Groningen floot dan Jan Wegereef. Jan Keizer (48), Dick Jol (47) en John Blankenstein (47) volgen op gepaste afstand. Het seizoen 2012/2013 is het laatste voor Wegereef als scheidsrechter in de Eredivisie.
Schorsing Aan de kant van Vitesse is Theo Janssen afwezig door een schorsing. Vitesse-speler Wilfried Bony staat met vier gele kaarten ‘op scherp’. Aan de kant van FC Groningen riskeren Virgil van Dijk, Andraz Kirm en Rasmus Lindgren een wedstrijd uitsluiting. Bij een gele kaart missen ze het thuisduel met PEC Zwolle.
