FC Groningen speelt vanavond, dinsdag 2 juli, de oefenwedstrijd tegen Onstwedder Boys. Het duel op Sportpark De Boskamp begint om 19.00 uur. De kassa’s openen om 17.30 uur.
Voor FC Groningen is het de tweede wedstrijd in de voorbereiding van het seizoen 2013/2014. Afgelopen zondag won de ploeg van trainer Erwin van de Looi met 15-0 van het combinatieteam RWE Eemsmond. Debuut Na het debuut van Nick van der Velden in die wedstrijd zal vanavond in Onstwedde de volgende nieuweling zijn debuut maken: Giliano Wijnaldum. Eric Botteghin was vorige maand ziek en herstelt. Zijn debuut laat dus nog even op zich wachten.
In de eerste wedstrijd scoorden Michael de Leeuw en David Texeira elk vijf keer. Zij zijn dus in een felle strijd gewikkeld in de strijd om de eretitel topscorer van de voorbereiding.
Historie en route Bijna tien jaar geleden speelde FC Groningen ook tegen Onstwedder Boys. Destijds werden de dubbele cijfers gehaald (0-10) en maakten Joey Hardarson en Ray Fränkel hun officieuze debuut in het groen-wit.
