FC Groningen speelt vanavond, donderdag 22 maart, een oefenwedstrijd tegen sportparkgenoot Groen Geel. Het duel begint om 19.30 uur op het kunstgrasveld van de zaterdag tweedeklasser. Toegang is gratis.
De coaching is in handen van Mischa Visser, in het kader van zijn ‘proeve van bekwaamheid’ voor de Cursus Coach Betaald Voetbal (UEFA Pro). Hoofdtrainer Ernest Faber hierover: “De week in de aanloop naar de wedstrijd is voor onze stagiair Mischa Visser, die zijn ‘proeve van bekwaamheid’ doet in het kader van de opleiding tot Coach Betaald Voetbal. Dat betekent dat hij de trainingen leidt, de aantallen in de gaten moet houden en tijdens deze oefenwedstrijd ook de coaching en bespreking doet en achteraf de pers te woord staat.”
Visser zal rekening moeten houden met diverse randvoorwaarden: “Bij onze ploeg ontbreekt een aantal spelers van de eerste selectie in verband met interlandverplichtingen. Daarom zullen ook spelers van Jong FC Groningen worden ingezet. Mischa zal rekening moeten houden met de wedstrijd van Jong FC Groningen van zaterdagmiddag, thuis tegen Capelle. Vanaf maandag gaat bij ons de focus bij het eerste elftal op Ajax-thuis van zondag 1 april.”
