FC Groningen speelt vanavond om 19.00 uur de oefenwedstrijd tegen het Griekse PAOK Saloniki. Het duel wordt gespeeld op het hoofdveld van de vv GOMOS aan de Schapendrift in Norg.
Voor trainer Pieter Huistra is het de vierde testcase in de aanloop naar het seizoen 2011/2012. Eerder werd gespeeld tegen RWE Eemsmond (13-0), Helmond Sport (1-1) en het Belgische Beerschot AC (3-1). Vanavond treft de FC de nummer 4 van Griekenland. De zwart-witten zijn anderhalve week op trainingskamp in de buurt van Arnhem en speelden al eerder tegen Fortuna Düsseldorf. De komende dagen zal gespeeld worden tegen CSKA Sofia en Trabzonspor. PAOK speelt komend seizoen Europa League en start in de derde voorronde.
Bij FC Groningen ontbrak afgelopen zaterdag onder anderen Jonas Ivens. De Belg kampt met een bovenbeenblessure en is vanavond opnieuw niet inzetbaar. Ook Koen van de Laak is nog niet speelklaar. Hij revalideert van een kruisbandoperatie. Tim Matavz, Tim Sparv en Emil Johansson maakten afgelopen weekend voor het eerst dit seizoen hun opwachting. Thomas Enevoldsen zit tegen PAOK voor het eerst bij de wedstrijdselectie.
Kaarten 9 euro Het duel van vanavond staat onder leiding van scheidsrechter Pol van Boekel. Hij wordt geassisteerd door de heren Wilco Lobbert en Patrick Gerritsen. Het sportpark van vv GOMOS aan de Schapendrift in Norg opent de poorten om 17.30 uur. Het duel begint om 19.00 uur. Kaarten kosten 9 euro voor volwassenen en 4 euro voor jeugd tot en met 12 jaar.
