Nick van der Velden is zaterdagavond niet inzetbaar in de uitwedstrijd tegen Heracles Almelo. De rechteraanvaller hield een liesblessure over aan het thuisduel met Roda JC. Andraz Kirm is zijn vervanger in de ploeg van trainer Erwin van de Looi.
Voor het duel in Almelo is er een lijst van acht spelers die niet inzetbaar zijn bij FC Groningen. Naast Nick Bakker en Henk Bos (beiden kruisband) zijn dat Género Zeefuik (bovenbeen), David Texeira (niet wedstrijdfit), Hilal Ben Moussa (enkel), Nick van der Velden (lies), Luciano da Silva (familieomstandigheden) en Timo Letschert (disciplinair gestraft). De basiself van afgelopen zondag wordt naar verwachting op één plek gewijzigd. Andraz Kirm vervangt de geblesseerde Nick van der Velden.
Beloften Timo Letschert sluit aanstaande maandag weer aan bij de eerste selectie. Hij zal net als David Texeira en diverse andere spelers die weinig speelminuten hebben gemaakt in het eerste elftal, zijn opwachting maken in minimaal één van de twee wedstrijden die Jong FC Groningen speelt in de komende week. Het eerste elftal speelt geen oefenwedstrijd in de komende interlandperiode.
