De selectie van FC Groningen bereidt zich vrijdag en zaterdag op één van de nieuwe kunstgrasvelden op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn voor op het competitietreffen met ADO Den Haag. Het Eredivisieduel in de residentiestad wordt zondagmiddag vanaf 14.30 uur op dezelfde ondergrond gespeeld.
Aanvankelijk was het de bedoeling dat Erwin van de Looi zijn manschappen vanaf woensdag al het kunstgras zou opsturen van het trainingscomplex van Corpus. Na overleg met zijn stafleden leek het de hoofdtrainer uiteindelijk toch beter het aantal trainingen op de kunst-ondergrond in de aanloop naar het duel met ADO te beperken tot twee. Woensdag en donderdag wordt er daarom gewoon getraind op het trainingsveld naast de Mediacentrale. De selectie van FC Groningen traint tot en met zaterdag dagelijks één keer. Renovatie Het trainingscomplex Corpus den Hoorn ondergaat momenteel een grootscheepse renovatie. Vanaf medio 2015 is het de bedoeling dat FC Groningen met al haar elftallen op het gerenoveerde sportpark gaat trainen. De eerste nieuwe kunstgrasvelden zijn inmiddels al aangelegd. Omdat ADO Den Haag haar thuiswedstrijden op kunstgras afwerkt, wil de ploeg van Van de Looi een aantal trainingen gebruiken om zich op dezelfde ondergrond voor te bereiden op het competitietreffen van zondagmiddag in de residentiestad. Afsluitende training Vanaf woensdag tot en met vrijdag starten de dagelijkse trainingen om 10.30 uur. De afsluitende training op zaterdagmiddag op Corpus is om 15.00 uur. Daarna vertrekken selectie en staf richting Den Haag. Zondagmiddag om 14.30 uur is vervolgens de aftrap van FC Groningens derde competitiewedstrijd van dit nieuwe seizoen.
