FC Groningen gaat morgen (zaterdag 28 augustus) in speelronde 3 van de Eredivisie op bezoek bij PSV. De uitwedstrijd in Eindhoven wordt om 20.00 uur afgetrapt. Zowel PSV als FC Groningen zijn dit seizoen nog ongeslagen. Het duel in het Philips Stadion staat onder leiding van scheidsrechter Serdar Gözübüyük. FC Groningen wordt in Eindhoven gesteund door 315 meereizende supporters.
De selectie van hoofdtrainer Danny Buijs kent – met nog één training te gaan – een tweetal twijfelgevallen. Middenvelder Ahmed El Messaoudi was deze week enkele dagen ziek, Romano Postema is herstellende van de kwetsuur die de spits tegen FC Utrecht buiten de wedstrijdselectie hield. Bij beide spelers wordt na de laatste training van vrijdagmiddag bekeken of ze inzetbaar zijn. Paulos Abraham en Radinio Balker zijn in ieder geval niet van de partij in de wedstrijd tegen PSV.
Na winst in Leeuwarden tegen Cambuur en het gelijke spel van vorige week thuis tegen Utrecht, staat FC Groningen met vier punten op een zesde plaats in de Eredivisie.
