FC Groningen neemt het komende zondag (4 oktober) om 12.15 uur in het eigen Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadion op tegen landskampioen Ajax. De wedstrijd wordt vanwege de nieuwe coronamaatregelen gespeeld zonder publiek. Trainer Danny Buijs kijkt vooruit op het duel met de Amsterdammers en zal de FC-supporters in het stadion missen.
Buijs noemt Ajax in de voorbeschouwing de beste ploeg van Nederland, maar weet ook hoe het is om de Amsterdammers te verslaan. In zijn eerste jaar als trainer in de Eredivisie kwam zijn team heel dichtbij, vorig jaar stapte FC Groningen met drie punten van het veld na een 2-1 overwinning. Buijs en zijn spelers gaan er alles aan doen om zondag een goed resultaat neer te zetten.
