De invulling van de trainersstaf van de zeven jeugdteams van FC Groningen binnen RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur is rond. Arjen Jorritsma wordt trainer/coach van FC Groningen D1. Daarnaast zijn er wat verschuivingen van trainers naar andere teams. De benamingen van de jeugdteams zijn gewijzigd naar de situatie van voor de RVO.
De jeugdteams binnen de RVO moesten de afgelopen seizoenen door de voetbalbond KNVB allemaal gelijkluidend zijn, of ze nu in Groningen of Leeuwarden gevestigd waren. De zeven teams in Groningen en twee in Leeuwarden luisterden dan ook allemaal naar de naam RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur A1 etc. Vanaf het seizoen 2013/2014 wordt bij de KNVB de officiële benaming van de teams bijvoorbeeld RVO GC/FC Groningen A1 en RVO GC/Cambuur D1 etc.
In Groningen heeft men ervoor gekomen de ‘oude’ benamingen aan te houden in de eigen communicatie. Het oudste jeugdteam heet dan ook weer FC Groningen A1 (leeftijdscategorie: onder-19). De voormalige C3 en D3 gaan in Groningen weer C2 (onder-14) en D2 (onder-12) heten. In Leeuwarden zijn SC Cambuur C2 (onder-14) en SC Cambuur D1 (onder-13) actief. Trainersstaf Net als bij het eerste elftal en de Beloften van FC Groningen treedt in het nieuwe seizoen ook bij de opleidingsteams een verschuiving op binnen de technische staf. Met het vertrek van Paul Raveneau naar Jong FC Groningen wordt Peter Hoekstra verantwoordelijk voor het oudste jeugdteam, FC Groningen A1 (onder-19). Peter Moltmaker blijft trainer/coach van B1 (onder-17). Rick Mulder gaat van C1 naar B2 (onder-16).
Hugo Alves Velame maakt na zes seizoenen de overstap van de D1 naar C1 (onder-15). Zoals eerder gemeld, wordt Gerard Wiekens trainer/coach van FC Groningen C2 (onder-14). Bote Talsma blijft verantwoordelijk voor FC Groningen D2 (onder-12) en de Voetbalschool. Nieuw in de staf is Arjen Jorritsma. Hij wordt trainer/coach van FC Groningen D1 (onder-13). Nieuwe coach Arjen Jorritsma is een goede bekende binnen de organisatie van FC Groningen. Hij geeft Nederlandse les aan bij de buitenlandse spelers van de eerste selectie en is dit seizoen betrokken geweest binnen de module jeugdscouting. Hij neemt daarnaast deel aan de werkgroep spelersbegeleiding/opvang gastgezinnen. Als trainer/coach kan Arjen bogen op een rijke ervaring in het senioren en jeugdvoetbal in binnen- en buitenland. Arjen is tevens al jarenlang docent binnen de trainersopleiding bij de KNVB in district Noord.
