FC Groningen TV kijkt vanavond terug naar het officiële afscheid van het eigen publiek van Dusan Tadic, Brian van Loo en teammanager Theo Huizinga. Het drietal werd voorafgaande aan FC Groningen - NAC Breda door algemeen directeur Hans Nijland in de bloemen gezet en bedankt voor de mooie jaren die zij FC Groningen hebben bezorgd.
Voor Dusan Tadic was de avond van FC Groningen – NAC Breda een emotionele avond. Tijdens zijn laatste wedstrijd in Euroborg in het groenwit besefte hij hoe moeilijk het is om na twee seizoenen FC Groningen afscheid te nemen van de Trots van het Noorden. Tadic, die zijn afscheid een minuut voor tijd opluisterde met een benutte vrije trap, zocht meteen na afloop de supporters van FC Groningen op om zo zijn waardering uit te spreken voor de steun die hij twee jaar lang kreeg van de FC fans. Olivier Nieman, die speciaal een spandoek voor Tadic had opgehangen in Euroborg, kreeg zelfs het wedstrijdshirt van zijn held.
Kort voor het begin van FC Groningen – NAC Breda kwam FCG TV Virgil van Dijk tegen aan de rand van het veld. Van Dijk werd een paar weken geleden geopereerd vanwege een acute blindedarmontsteking. De toestand van Van Dijk was behoorlijk kritiek want hij had ook last van een buikvliesontsteking en een niervergiftiging. De lange verdediger is nu aan het herstellen van de zware operatie en hoopt begin juni weer voorzichtig met trainen te kunnen beginnen.
Maikel Kieftenbeld werd woensdag in het zonnetje gezet omdat hij dit seizoen Essent Speler van het jaar is geworden. In de verkiezing voor de FC Groningen supporters liet hij David Texeira en de winnaar van vorig jaar, Dusan Tadic, achter zich. Kieftenbeld staat nu tussen een illuster gezelschap met namen als Arjen Robben, Luis Suárez en Marcus Berg. Kieftenbeld is blij met de uitverkiezing en met het feit dat hij dit seizoen heeft laten zien het beste uit de voeten te kunnen als middenvelder.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 18.00 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 1. De herhaling is te zien op EL 2 om 19.00 uur, 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur.
