FC Groningen ontvangt morgenavond (vrijdag 3 december) PEC Zwolle in Euroborg. De aftrap is om 20.00 uur. Trainer Danny Buijs kan in het duel met PEC weer beschikken over Tomas Suslov. De Slowaaks international keert na een wedstrijd schorsing terug in de wedstrijdselectie.
Tegen PEC Zwolle zijn Damil Dankerlui en Michael de Leeuw nog niet inzetbaar, nadat ze vorige week vanwege ziek zijn ontbraken bij de met 1-4 gewonnen uitwedstrijd tegen Fortuna Sittard. Naast dit duo is bekend dat de revaliderende Radinio Balker nog steeds afwezig is.
Na twee competitiezeges op rij is de stemming spelers en staf vanzelfsprekend positief. “Twee keer achter elkaar winnen, geeft uiteraard een goed gevoel,” beaamt Buijs. “We hebben tegen Fortuna Sittard veel dingen goed gedaan, anders win je niet overtuigend met 1-4. Maar we kunnen en willen op een aantal vlakken nóg beter. Daaraan werken we dagelijks hard. Tegen PEC Zwolle zullen we met dezelfde spirit en wedstrijdinstelling moeten spelen als de afgelopen weken. Daarbij werden we in eigen huis ook altijd extra geholpen door onze supporters. Die zullen we nu voor het eerst sinds het begin van dit seizoen in Euroborg gaan missen. Dat is en blijft jammer, maar we hebben er ook zonder die extra steun vertrouwen in dat we de ingezette lijn kunnen doortrekken.”
