Hilal Ben Moussa is woensdag met succes geopereerd aan zijn linkerknie. De medische ingreep vond plaats in het Martini Ziekenhuis in Groningen en werd uitgevoerd door orthopeed dr. Reinoud Brouwer. De 21-jarige middenvelder zal enkele maanden uit de roulatie zijn.
Ben Moussa liep maandag 17 maart zwaar knieletsel op in de competitiewedstrijd van Jong FC Groningen tegen Jong NEC/TOP Oss. De middenvelder scheurde de voorste kruisband van zijn linkerknie en liep bovendien een beschadiging op aan de meniscus. Ben Moussa kampte al eens eerder met een zware blessure aan zijn rechterknie, die hij opliep bij een toernooi met Jong FC Groningen in Pijnacker in augustus 2010. Revalidatie Na de revalidatie van zijn eerste knieblessure maakte Ben Moussa zijn rentree in Jong FC Groningen, waarin hij uitgroeide tot een vaste waarde. In het voorjaar van 2013 maakte Ben Moussa met twee invalbeurten tegen respectievelijk AZ en Roda JC zijn opwachting in het eerste elftal. Ook tekende hij vorig jaar een profcontract bij FC Groningen voor de periode van medio 2013 tot medio 2015 en werd de middenvelder toegevoegd aan de eerste selectie van FC Groningen.
