Verdediger Nick Bakker is vandaag, woensdag 10 september, succesvol geopereerd aan zijn linkerknie. Bij een kijkoperatie werd geconstateerd dat een kruisband niet volledig intact was en is deze vervangen.
Op 27 mei 2013 onderging Bakker al eerder een knieoperatie. Op 20 augustus 2014 raakte de 22-jarige verdediger op een training opnieuw geblesseerd. In de weken erna werd reeds een MRI gemaakt. Vandaag was er een kijkoperatie gepland om eventuele schade beter te kunnen beoordelen.
Daarbij werd geconstateerd dat de kruisband niet volledig intact was en vervolgens is deze vervangen door orthopedisch chirurg Reinoud Brouwer. Bakker moet ter observatie nog een nacht in het ziekenhuis blijven en kan naar verwachting morgen (donderdag – red.) weer naar huis. Vervolgens begint Bakker voor de tweede keer in zestien maanden aan een lange revalidatie.
