Michael de Leeuw keert dit seizoen terug bij FC Groningen. De aanvaller is vorig weekend met de eerste selectie van FC Groningen begonnen aan de voorbereiding van het seizoen 2021/2022. De Leeuw was eerder in de periode tussen 2012 en 2016 zeer succesvol bij de Trots van het Noorden. FC Groningen zette de 55 goals die De Leeuw in het shirt van FC Groningen maakte op een rij in de special: ‘De mooiste goals van De Leeuw’. De special was eerder deze week te zien op ESPN en is vanaf heden terug te kijken op YouTube.
Michael de Leeuw werd in de zomer van 2012 door FC Groningen overgenomen van De Graafschap en groeide al snel uit tot zeer gewaardeerde speler bij de Trots van het Noorden. De werklust van de aanvaller in combinatie met het scorend vermogen van De Leeuw maakten van de spits een publiekslieveling.
De Leeuw scoorde gedurende zijn tijd bij FC Groningen van 2012 tot 2016 in 137 wedstrijden liefst 55 keer. De aanvaller werd in vier seizoenen drie keer clubtopscorer. Daarnaast was de spits de topschutter tijdens het succesvolle bekertoernooi in het seizoen 2014/2015. Na avonturen bij het Amerikaanse Chicago Fire en FC Emmen keert De Leeuw dit seizoen terug in Groningen. Hongerig naar meer doelpunten.
FC Groningen zette in de special ‘De mooiste goals van De Leeuw’ alle 55 treffers van de spits in het shirt van FC Groningen op een rij. De special is vanaf nu terug te kijken op het YouTube-kanaal van FC Groningen.
