Vanavond om 18.05 uur op Eredivisie Live 1 wordt in FC Groningen TV teruggekeken op FC Utrecht-FC Groningen. Daarnaast is er aandacht voor de supportersboycot van Excelsior-FC Groningen en de handtekeningenmiddag van de Junior Club.
FC Groningen verloor met 3-1 en slaagde er dus niet in de negatieve spiraal van de laatste weken om te buigen. Tim Sparv en Virgil van Dijk proberen aan te geven waar het probleem op dit moment bij hun ploeg ligt. Volgens Sparv is het team angstig om doelpunten tegen te krijgen maar werkt de ploeg er keihard aan om die angst weg te krijgen. Van Dijk geeft aan dat het verliezen van persoonlijke duels debet is aan de tegendoelpunten.
Voor Matias Jones was het duel tegen FC Utrecht één met gemengde gevoelens. Jones was uiteraard teleurgesteld over de nederlaag maar voor hem was het positief dat hij voor het eerst dit seizoen in de basis begon bij FC Groningen. De Urugyaan richt zich op de rechtsbuitenpositie bij de FC en gaat er alles aan doen om ook komende vrijdag tegen Excelsior vanaf de aftrap te beginnen.
FC Groningen zal het tijdens het uitduel met Excelsior zonder de steun van de supporters moeten doen. De Rotterdamse overheid heeft voor vrijdag een verplichte buscombi ingesteld en daar zijn de Supportersvereniging FC Groningen en de Groningen Fanatics het niet mee eens. Zij hebben een paar weken geleden dan ook opgeroepen tot een boycot. John Schurer, voorzitter van de Supportersvereniging, legt in FCG TV uit waarom.
In plaats van de vaste supporters zal het uitvak tegen Excelsior gevuld zijn met medewerkers van FC Groningen. De club wil hiermee een signaal afgeven naar de overheid dat FC Groningen het niet eens is met de verplichte buscombi. Algemeen directeur Hans Nijland vertelt in FCG TV waarom FC Groningen, net als de supporters, niet achter de maatregel van de burgemeester van Rotterdam Aboutaleb staat.
Vorige week woensdag werd er in Euroborg voor de tweede keer dit seizoen een handtekeningenmiddag voor leden van de FC Groningen Junior Club georganiseerd. Twee jonge fans maakten van de gelegenheid gebruik om een tekening mee te nemen voor Lorenzo Burnet. Maar natuurlijk ging het hen vooral om het verzamelen van zoveel mogelijk handtekeningen van hun helden.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 18.05 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 1. De herhaling is op Eredivisie Live 2 om 19.00, 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur.
