Na dit weekeinde zit de competitie er voor de meeste jeugdteams op. Op Corpus den Hoorn speelt FC Groningen/Cambuur A1 de laatste competitiewedstrijd tegen NAC Breda A1.
Voor het vlaggenschip van de Regionale Voetbalopleiding kan het seizoen al niet meer stuk. FC Groningen/Cambuur A1 is reeds verzekerd van een top-3 klassering en dat is het beste resultaat ooit van de Groningers in de Nike Eredivisie. De ploeg van trainer Paul Raveneau won acht van de laatste negen wedstrijden, een prestatie van formaat.
Voor tegenstander NAC Breda A1 is het laatste duel nog van cruciaal belang. De Brabantse ploeg is in een hevige degradatiestrijd verwikkeld met De Graafschap A1. Beide ploegen hebben evenveel punten en de laatste competitieronde zal uit gaan maken welke ploeg rechtstreeks degradeert en welke ploeg de play-offs ingaat.
