Gisteren werd door FC Groningen de eerste wedstrijd gespeeld in de play-offs. De strijd voor Europees voetbal is begonnen en helaas moet FC Groningen met een achterstand door naar de tweede wedstrijd.
Ruim 11.000 supporters waren in stadion Euroborg aanwezig om de wedstrijd FC Groningen-FC Twente te bekijken. Het weer zat vanaf het begin niet mee, enorme regenbuien zorgden ervoor dat er grote plassen water op het veld lagen. Halverwege de eerste helft opende FC Twente de score en kwam het op een 0-1 voorsprong. FC Groningen heeft er alles aan gedaan om nog op gelijke hoogte te komen, helaas is dit niet gelukt. De stand op het scorebord is niet meer gewijzigd sinds de 22ste minuut, wat een eindstand betekende van 0-1.
Een hoogtepunt van de wedstrijd was overduidelijk; de Shoot-Out activiteit in de rust van de wedstrijd. Leden van Kids United waren uitgenodigd om hun voetbalkwaliteiten te laten zien. Sharon Wildschut, Andrew Hackman, Sylvain Wagenaar, Patrick Knot en Remco vd Broek hebben laten zien wat scoren is! Keeper, en tevens speler van Kids United, Sandro Kukler had er zijn handen vol aan. Uiteindelijk wisten ze allemaal het doel te raken en de Groningen supporters beloonden hen met een groots applaus!
Uiteraard liepen er voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd ook leden van de Junior Club met een speler, scheids- of grensrechter het veld op. Bij deze wedstrijd waren Daimy Smidt, Hessel de Geus, Romy van Goor, Sven Rode, Esmee Schuiten, Lars van Santen, Ivar Jensema, Mats van Kuppeveld, Sem Balkema, Justin Mulder, Marc Linneman, Damian Rozenga, Kirsten Plenter en Jasper Bijlholt uitgenodigd voor de zogenoemde line-up activiteit.
