Op het trainingskamp waren er drie nieuwe gezichten in de eerste selectie. Uiteraard hebben zij inmiddels ook een vast rugnummer toegewezen gekregen.
Tim Sparv zal met ingang van de tweede competitiehelft spelen met het rugnummer 8. Dat nam hij over van de aan VVV verhuurde Gonzalo Garcia. In de voorgaande drie seizoenen speelde Evgeniy Levchenko onder het rugnummer 8.
Daley Blind zal gaan spelen onder nummer 18. Hij deed dat al in de oefenwedstrijd tegen Ajax. In 2006/2007 was er nog geen speler met dat nummer. Na Martijn van der Laan (2007/2008) droeg Gonzalo Garcia de 18 vorig seizoen om de schouders.
Theo Lucius droeg afgelopen dinsdag het nummer 17. In 2006/2007 droeg Antoine van der Linden het nummer 17. Daarna speelde Martijn Meerdink met 17.
