De reserves van FC Groningen hebben maandagmiddag op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn een trainingswedstrijd tegen FC Emmen 2 met 2-0 gewonnen. De eindstand was bij rust al bereikt. Onder andere Leonel Miguel van FC Groningen onder-19 maakte zijn opwachting in deze wedstrijd, net als een groot deel van de reserves van de wedstrijd FC Groningen-FC Emmen van zondagmiddag.
FC Groningen nam na een klein halfuur de leiding door een doelpunt van Amir Absalem. Even later verdubbelde Michael Breij de score. In beide gevallen was Uriel Antuna de aangever van de doelpunten. Ajdin Hrustic moest geblesseerd het veld verlaten. In de tweede helft schoot Tim Freriks nog op de paal, maar in de 2-0 score kwam geen verandering meer.
