Jong Oranje opent het nieuwe interlandseizoen in Euroborg tegen Jong Engeland. De wedstrijd vindt plaats op dinsdag 11 augustus en inmiddels is de kaartverkoop van start gegaan.
Jong Oranje speelt tegen Engeland voor het eerst onder leiding van de nieuwe coach Cor Pot. Hij is de opvolger van Foppe de Haan die het talententeam in 2006 en 2007 tweemaal naar de Europese titel onder 21 jaar leidde. Die laatste gewonnen finale werd gespeeld in Euroborg waar Jong Oranje glorieus de leeftijdsgenoten van Servië versloeg: 4-1. Nu, ruim twee jaar later, moet een nieuwe lichting talenten Jong Oranje opnieuw naar de Europese eindronde leiden. De wedstrijd tegen Engeland is het enige oefenduel dat de ploeg speelt voor het begin van de EK-kwalificatiereeks in september. De wedstrijd begint om 19.30 uur.
