Jesse Renken (19) en Robby Holder (19) van Jong FC Groningen hebben zich per direct gevoegd bij de eerste selectie van SC Veendam. Het duo liep vorige week stage bij de Oost-Groningers om zowel de club als spelers zich te laten oriënteren.
Door de brede A- en B-selectie komen Renken en Holder in Euroborg weinig aan spelen toe. Beide spelers hebben een amateurcontract en blijven door de samenwerking van FC Groningen en SC Veendam beschikbaar voor de wedstrijden van Jong FC Groningen.
Holder is met een afwezigheid van één seizoen sinds 2006 actief binnen de jeugdopleiding van FC Groningen. Renken kwam in 2005 als D-pupil naar de FC. Potveer Verdediger Luis Pedro da Silva Ferreira (20) van Jong FC Groningen is al sinds het begin van het seizoen actief aan De Langeleegte. Doelman Joey Potveer, na Luciano da Silva, Marco Bizot en Stefan van der Lei de vierde doelman van FC Groningen, blijft tot het einde van dit kalenderjaar beschikbaar voor SC Veendam. Hij zat eerder als reserve op de bank bij de selectie van de club uit de Jupiler League. Speelgerechtigdheid Door het samenwerkingsverband tussen FC Groningen, SC Veendam en SC Cambuur is het mogelijk dat spelers met een amateurovereenkomst tussentijds worden uitgewisseld tussen de eerste selecties. Op het moment dat zij speelminuten maken in een officiële wedstrijd van het eerste elftal, zijn ze tot de volgende transferperiode gebonden aan dat eerste team. Tot die tijd kunnen ze wisselen van club. In alle gevallen zijn spelers gerechtigd te spelen in Jong FC Groningen.
