Paul Raveneau wordt met ingang van volgend seizoen de nieuwe trainer/coach van Jong FC Groningen. De huidige trainer van RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur A1 volgt Dick Lukkien op, die op zijn beurt vanaf volgend seizoen assistent-trainer wordt van de nieuwe hoofdcoach Erwin van de Looi.
De 37-jarige Raveneau is sinds 2007 werkzaam binnen de jeugdopleiding van FC Groningen. Hij is een nieuwe tweejarige verbintenis overeengekomen met de Trots van het Noorden. Raveneau presteert dit seizoen uitstekend met het hoogste jeugdteam van de FC. Zijn ploeg bezet met een recordaantal van 45 punten in de Groningse clubgeschiedenis achter Feyenoord en PSV de derde plaats in de Nike Eredivisie. Morgenmiddag (zaterdag) speelt de A1 de derby in en tegen sc Heerenveen. Carrière Raveneau begon zijn spelerscarrière in de jeugd van GVAV Rapiditas. Op zijn 21ste maakte hij de overstap naar BV Veendam, waar hij één seizoen speelde. Via VV Drachten kwam Raveneau bij ACV terecht, waar hij enkele jaren in de top van de hoofdklasse meedraaide. Raveneau was voor zijn periode bij FC Groningen als trainer werkzaam bij GVAV Rapiditas en ACV en volgt momenteel de Cursus Coach Betaald Voetbal.
Door de doorstroming van Raveneau naar het Beloftenteam is er een vacature ontstaan bij RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur A1.
