Het beleidsplan 2017-2020 kent een mooi en bijzonder traject wat betreft de totstandkoming ervan. Een brede afvaardiging van onze achterban – en uiteraard ook alle geledingen binnen de club – zijn erbij betrokken geweest. De rode draad bij de realisatie van dit beleidsplan, is de uitdaging om ‘de hut weer vol te spelen’.
We hebben onszelf daarbij de vraag gesteld hoe we dat voor elkaar willen krijgen. Eén van de antwoorden: door aansprekend voetbal te spelen en met nog meer sfeer en beleving in het stadion. De titel van deze beleidsperiode is dan ook ‘FC Groningen laat nooit meer los’. De wedstrijden en de sfeer rond de club moeten dusdanig aangrijpend zijn, dat je er geen seconde over twijfelt of je de volgende keer ook weer in het Noordlease Stadion aanwezig zult zijn.
De meepraatsessie met supporters hebben we als dusdanig nuttig ervaren, dat we inmiddels hebben besloten zo’n bijeenkomst elk jaar te laten terugkeren. Ook het aanstellen van een supporterscoördinator is één van de zaken, die we al hebben gerealiseerd. Om het de bezoekers van onze wedstrijden nog beter naar de zin te maken, zullen we als club hierin investeren.
Een belangrijk moment in de komende drie jaren is de ingebruikname van ons nieuwe TopsportZorgCentrum, dat in 2018 klaar moet zijn. Hier worden ons eerste elftal en de opleiding maximaal gefaciliteerd om te zorgen dat er nog meer spelers van Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn doorstromen naar het Noordlease Stadion.
Het gehele voetballandschap in Nederland is bovendien volop in beweging. Er wordt gesproken over hervormingen van de competities en die zullen gevolgen hebben voor de Europese tickets die er te behalen zijn. Als directie zullen wij actief aan deze discussie deelnemen. Het is immers een belangrijk vraagstuk voor de toekomst van het voetbal in Nederland, waar FC Groningen onderdeel van uitmaakt.
