Peter Leeuwenburgh is vanmiddag te gast bij de Warming-up. De doelman kwam afgelopen zomer over van het Zuid-Afrikaanse Cape Town City FC en speelde sindsdien iedere competitiewedstrijd mee. Samen met de keeper wordt vooruitgeblikt op het uitduel met FC Utrecht. De uitzending vanuit de Word Groter Studio in Euroborg is vanaf 16:00 uur te zien op het YouTube-kanaal van FC Groningen.
Peter Leeuwenburgh werd in de zomerstop binnengehaald als nieuwe ‘nummer 1’ van FC Groningen en keepte tot nu toe alle Eredivisieduels. De keeper kwam in de jeugd uit voor diverse vertegenwoordigende selecties van het Nederlands Elftal.
Leeuwenburgh debuteerde echter op 15 augustus van vorig jaar in de Eredivisie namens FC Groningen. Na enkele jaren Jong Ajax en een jaar Dordrecht vertrok Leeuwenburgh naar het Zuid-Afrikaanse Cape Town City FC. Een opvallende maar bewuste keuze: persoonlijke en professionele groei waren de beweegredenen van de in Heinenoord geboren doelverdediger.
In de Word Groter Studio vertelt Leeuwenburgh over deze periode bij de Zuid-Afrikaanse subtopper en zijn ambities bij de FC. Samen met presentator Tom Vegter wordt ook vooruitgekeken op de uitwedstrijd tegen FC Utrecht.
Daarnaast wordt de battle tussen Kurt Elshot en John de Jonge vervolgd. De oud-speler breidde zijn voorsprong nog maar eens uit door behalve de uitslag ook de stelling goed te voorspellen. Het is nu aan De Jonge om daar iets tegenover te zetten.
De Warming-up wordt vanmiddag opgenomen in de Word Groter Studio in Euroborg en is vanaf 16:00 uur te bekijken op het YouTube-kanaal van de Trots van het Noorden.
