De 26ste Open Dag van FC Groningen is zondagmiddag 15 juli bezocht door 22.000 fans van de club. Met uitzondering van een klein regenbuitje rond de klok van vier uur waren de weersomstandigheden prima.
Nog voor de klok van twaalf uur stonden de eerste honderden bezoekers reeds op het Europapark voor de poorten van Euroborg om een kijkje te kunnen nemen in het stadion. Rond één uur waren er zo’n negenduizend mensen aanwezig bij de traditionele spelerspresentatie.
Over de hele dag werd het evenement bezocht door naar schatting 22.000 supporters van FC Groningen. Zij konden de spelers en trainers van FC Groningen in en rond het stadion ontmoeten en bovendien op handtekeningenjacht. Op P2 was de hele middag muzikale ondersteuning van Simone FM. Op het podium vond tussen twee en drie een forum plaats waarin directeur Hans Nijland, trainer Robert Maaskant en Michael de Leeuw aan de tand werden gevoeld.
Verder waren er weer vele activiteiten voor jong en oud en presenteerden diverse sponsors en geledingen rond FC Groningen zich aan de duizenden toeschouwers. Rond vier uur, halverwege de wedstrijd op het hoofdveld tussen Oud FC Groningen en een team van supporters en sponsors, was er een klein buitje, maar verder bleef het rond Euroborg de hele middag droog.
Rond de klok van vijf uur eindigden alle activiteiten, werden de poorten weer gesloten en gingen de horecavoorzieningen dicht. Op dat moment kwam er een einde aan een geslaagde en druk bezochte Open Dag en konden de vele medewerkers en vrijwilligers van FC Groningen beginnen aan het afbouwen en opruimen. Op zondag 19 augustus is de volgende activiteit in Euroborg: de competitiewedstrijd tegen Willem II!
