Vanaf aanstaande zaterdag geeft de Eredivisie alle voetbalfans met een creatief balgevoel een unieke kans. Dan wordt in AD Sportwereld het startschot gegeven voor de Eredivisie ontwerpcompetitie.
Het Nederlands publiek krijgt hiermee de kans om zelf te bepalen hoe de bal voor het volgende voetbalseizoen in de Eredivisie eruit komt te zien. Strijden de spelers in de Eredivisie straks om jouw bal? De ideale wedstrijdbal moet niet alleen technisch perfect zijn, ook het uiterlijk speelt een belangrijke rol. Bovendien zal ook de originaliteit van het ontwerp meewegen in het bepalen van de winnaar. Vanaf aanstaande zaterdag kan iedereen zijn ontwerp insturen, uitsluitend via de actiesite www.sportwereld.nl/eredivisiebal. Uit alle inzendingen worden tien ontwerpen geselecteerd waarna uiteindelijk een winnaar zal overblijven. De actie loopt tot en met 15 december.
De bal van de winnaar wordt het officiële speeltuig van de profs tijdens de Eredivisie wedstrijden in het seizoen 2009/2010. Onder anderen Marc Overmars, Paul Bosvelt en Henk Timmer zullen testen hoe de ballen met bijbehorend ontwerp zich in realistische spelsituaties gedragen en of ze geschikt zijn voor voetbal op topniveau. In de Eredivisie wedstrijden tijdens de laatste speelronde van het nu lopende seizoen zal de nieuwe bal als voorproefje in gebruik worden genomen. De Eredivisie ontwerpactie is een initiatief van Eredivisie, AD Sportwereld, Derbystar en TBWABrand Experience Company.
