Komende zaterdag worden op Corpus den Hoorn de laatste thuisduels van het jaar 2008 gespeeld. D2 en D1 komen achtereenvolgens in actie tegen Urk en Zwolle. Voor de A1 en B1 staat een uitwedstrijd op het programma. Midweeks wordt er ook nog volop gespeeld.
Zaterdagochtend om 10.30 uur trapt de D2 af in een thuiswedstrijd tegen SV Urk D1. Het is voor de ploeg van trainer Peter Hoekstra de laatste wedstrijd voor de winterstop. Om twaalf uur neemt FC Groningen D1 het op tegen FC Zwolle D1. De trotse koploper in de Eerste Divisie C speelt woensdag om 17.00 uur nog in het Gelderse Malden tegen Union D1.
Zaterdagmiddag gaat FC Groningen A1 op bezoek bij Feyenoord. Het duel in Rotterdam begint om 14.30 uur. Op donderdagavond speelt de A1 vervolgens nog in het kader van het bekertoernooi uit tegen Ajax A2, in Amsterdam. Dat duel begint op 18 december om 17.00 uur.
De B’ers spelen zondag hun laatste officiële wedstrijd van 2008 en nemen het vanaf 11.30 uur in Amsterdam op tegen Ajax B1. De C1 begeeft zich in de zaal. In Leek vormt de onder-15 het voorprogramma van een wedstrijd van de Leekster Eagles. De C1 van die Eredivisieclub is vanaf 19.00 uur tegenstander. De C1 heeft komend weekend dus geen competitieverplichtingen, maar speelt komende dinsdagavond in Assen nog wel een bekerwedstrijd tegen ACV C1. Dat duel begint om 19.00 uur.
De C2 heeft het eerste deel van de competitie reeds afgerond. De ploeg gaat aanstaande zondag naar Qatar. Het team is uitgenodigd door Aspire in Doha en vertrekt vandaag. In Qatar worden twee oefenwedstrijden gespeeld tegen regioselecties. Donderdag landt het gezelschap weer op Schiphol.
De Beloften hebben de eerste helft van de competitie afgesloten op een twaalfde plek in de Beloften Eredivisie. De ploeg van trainer Erwin van de Looi behaalde twaalf punten uit dertien duels. In het Beloften-bekertoernooi is de ploeg reeds uitgeschakeld in de groepsfase. Het laatste duel in de poule wordt komende maandagavond om 18.30 uur gespeeld bij Heracles in Almelo.
