Jongeren in Groningen komen dit voetbalseizoen weer volop in beweging met FC Groningen en Menzis. Samen maken deze partijen van topsport toegankelijke sport voor iedereen. Hiervoor hebben de Trots van het Noorden en de zorgverzekeraar weer een nieuwe Maatschappelijke Selectie samengesteld.
Voor veel jongeren zijn de voetballers van FC Groningen echte voorbeelden. Daarom worden zij samen met maatschappelijk partner Menzis ingezet als voorbeeldrol om jongeren in beweging te brengen én te houden. Zo werken de bekerwinnaar en de zorgverzekeraar samen aan een sportievere samenleving en aan de leefkracht van jongeren in Groningen. Projecten Bijvoorbeeld voor Sem, Nune, Nicole, Daniël, Jozef Benjamin en Romee: zes jongeren die meedoen aan een van de maatschappelijke projecten van FC Groningen en Menzis. In de Maatschappelijke Selectie van FC Groningen geven ze samen met vijf spelers en de trainer/coach een gezicht aan die projecten.
De Maatschappelijke Selectie van FC Groningen en Menzis in het seizoen 2015/2016 ziet er als volgt uit: trainer Erwin van de Looi en Sem Bolt (Special Heroes), Jarchinio Antonia en Jozef Benjamin Matulessy (FC Groningen Buurt Battle), Michael de Leeuw en Nune van Lint (Kids United), Bryan Linssen en Nicole Schoonhoven (Jeugdsportfonds Groningen), Johan Kappelhof en Romee van der Reijd (Gezond Scoren), Hans Hateboer en Daniël Steenhuis (FC Groningen G-toernooi). Nieuwe gezichten en bekende namen De Maatschappelijke Selectie bestaat naast vertrouwde gezichten zoals Nune van Lint uit Groningen – die al voor het derde jaar meedoet – ook uit een aantal nieuwe spelers en jongeren. Verdediger Hans Hateboer uit Beerta is ook lid van de nieuwe selectie. Doordat hijzelf uit de regio komt, kent en begrijpt Hateboer de leefwereld van de jongeren goed. Dat maakt het voor hem net iets makkelijker om hen te betrekken en enthousiast te maken. Samen met Daniël Steenhuis uit Groningen is Hateboer dit seizoen het gezicht van het FC Groningen G-toernooi.
