In FC Groningen TV komt Erik Nevland vanavond aan het woord over zijn afscheidswedstrijd van komende zondag, zoekt Henk de Haan naar leuke afscheidscadeaus voor Nevland in de FC Groningen Fanshop en kijkt Virgil van Dijk terug op de eerste maanden van de competitie.
Komende zondag speelt Erik Nevland zijn laatste wedstrijd in het betaalde voetbal. Het duel tussen zijn huidige club Viking FK en Valerenga zal door zo’n veertig FC Groningen supporters worden bezocht. Een groot deel van hen vertrekt vrijdagavond met een speciale bus naar Noorwegen om daar zaterdag aan het einde van de middag te arriveren. Om niet met lege handen te komen ging de organisator van de reis, Henk de Haan, in de Fanshop van FC Groningen op zoek naar leuke afscheidscadeaus voor Nevland. Daar vond hij onder andere het nieuwe retroshirt met de afbeelding van Nevland.
Nevland heeft er zondag zestien jaar betaald voetbal opzitten. Via Viking FK, Manchester United en IFK Göteborg kwam hij begin november 2004 naar FC Groningen. Tot aan januari 2008 scoorde hij 48 keer voor de FC en groeide hij onder trainer Ron Jans uit tot het boegbeeld van de club. In 2008 maakte Nevland de overstap naar het Engelse Fulham, waarna hij in 2010 terugkeerde bij Viking FK. Nevland laat in FCG TV vanavond weten dat hij toe is aan een nieuwe uitdaging en dat FC Groningen de belangrijkste club in zijn carrière is geweest.
Virgil van Dijk is dit seizoen een van de meest constante spelers in de selectie van FC Groningen. De lange verdediger werd eind maart van dit jaar geveld een door een zware blindedarm- en buikvliesontsteking en kwam daarna in het seizoen 2011/2012 niet neer in actie. In de voorbereiding op het nieuwe seizoen pakte hij de draad weer op. Dat was in het begin even moeilijk, maar nu laat Van Dijk wekelijks zien dat het niveau van een jaar geleden weer helemaal te pakken heeft en dat hij stappen omhoog kan maken.
Zaterdagavond speelt Van Dijk met FC Groningen thuis tegen AZ. Net als AZ is FC Groningen dit seizoen nog niet stabiel gebleken wat betreft de prestaties. Maar na de 1-0 uitzege vorige week tegen NAC Breda laat Género Zeefuik weten dat de FC gedreven is om er morgen een spectaculaire wedstrijd van te maken.
Let op: FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 17.50 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 1. Daarna is FCG TV om 19.00 uur, 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur te zien op EL 2 en om 23.10 uur op EL 1. Morgen wordt FCG TV om 08.40 uur en 16.45 uur herhaald op EL 1.
FC Groningen TV is zaterdag ook te zien op OOG TV. De uitzending op de lokale omroep van Groningen begint om 15.30 uur, waarna het tot 09.00 uur in de ochtend wordt herhaald.
