Bijna vijf jaar na zijn vertrek bij de club zal Erik Nevland, Speler van het Jaar van FC Groningen in 2004/2005, op donderdagavond 20 december eregast zijn in Euroborg. De Noor is aanwezig bij het bekerduel met Ajax die avond.
In de winterstop van het seizoen 2007/2008 vertrok Nevland uit Groningen naar het Engelse Fulham. De afgelopen seizoenen was hij in Noorwegen actief voor de club waar hij werd opgeleid, Viking FK uit Stavanger. Nevland nam enkele weken geleden afscheid als actief voetballer. Dat was een aanleiding voor de clubleiding van FC Groningen om Nevland na bijna vijf jaar nog eens uit te nodigen in Euroborg.
Kaartverkoop Seizoenkaarthouders en ClubCard-houders van FC Groningen kunnen vandaag, donderdag 29 november, in totaal maximaal vier kaarten aanschaffen voor het duel. Dat is mogelijk via deze website, de Fanshop in Euroborg en de Primera-verkooppunten van TicketBox. De prijs is 15 euro per kaart. Vanaf morgen, vrijdag 30 november, zijn er nog twee tickets per (S)CC te koop via deze kanalen.
Daarnaast kunnen op vertoon van legitimatie van de noordelijke drie provincies bij de Supportersbalie of zondag na afloop van Groningen-Heracles bij de kassa’s bij Ingang 2 maximaal twee kaarten per persoon worden aangeschaft. De prijs is in alle gevallen 15 euro per kaart. Woensdag waren er nog zo’n vierduizend kaarten beschikbaar voor het bekerduel met Ajax dat donderdag 20 december om 20.00 uur begint in Euroborg.
