Een beperkt competitieprogramma morgen voor de jeugdteams van RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur. Op Corpus den Hoorn komen zowel D1 als C1 in actie.
De strijd tegen degradatie is ongekend spannend in de Eerste Divisie A bij de C-junioren. FC Groningen/Cambuur C1 en FC Twente C1 hebben evenveel verliespunten maar een van deze teams zal volgend seizoen een stap terug moeten doen. Derhalve is het duel tegen ADO Den Haag C1 een cruciale voor de ploeg van trainer Rick Mulder. Al voor de winterstop was een stijgende lijn te bespeuren bij de Groningers maar met name de laatste weken zit het flink tegen. Typisch voor een ploeg die een moeilijk seizoen doormaakt. Gelukkig biedt het spel van de laatste tijd genoeg positiefs om de slotfase van deze competitie met vertrouwen tegemoet te zien.
Vorig weekeinde werd FC Groningen/Cambuur D1 uitgeschakeld in het bekertoernooi door SC Heerenveen D1. Met diezelfde ploeg zijn de mannen van trainer Hugo Alves Velame verwikkeld in een race om het kampioenschap. De groenwitte brigade heeft nog steeds drie punten voorsprong op de Friezen. Tegenstander FC Emmen D1 staat in de middenmoot. Eerder dit seizoen werd het onderlinge duel in Drenthe met 3-5 gewonnen.
