Het is herfstvakantie in Noord-Nederland, reden voor de Junior Club om leuke activiteiten te organiseren voor haar leden.
Gisteren stond de eerste activiteit van de week op de planning: een bezoek aan SculpturePark in Zuidlaren. SculpturePark heeft in mei dit jaar zijn deuren geopend voor publiek. Het is een grote overdekte activiteitenruimte waar de grootste indoor zandsculpturen expositie ter wereld te zien is. Naast de zandsculpturen expositie is er nog veel meer te doen; er is een enorme speelhal met o.a. zandveldjes, BricksArt en een lego tentoonstelling.
Vanaf 13.00 uur waren de Junior Club leden welkom in het SculpturePark. Bij ontvangst werden zij ingedeeld in groepen en mochten ze alle speel-onderdelen bij langs. Een heuse zandkunstenaar gaf uitleg over het bouwen van zandsculpturen, waarna de kinderen zelf aan de slag konden. Een kleine iglo of een groot kasteel, er werd van alles gecreëerd. Ook de actievelingen hoefden zich niet te vervelen. Op de twee exclusief voor de Junior Club gereserveerde beachveldjes werden voetbalpartijtjes gespeeld en er werd gevolleybald. De grootste lego-tentoonstelling van Noord-Nederland trok ook veel bekijks. Aan de BricksArt tafels werden door de leden vervolgens ook kleine lego-kunstwerkjes gemaakt. Professor Dr. Zandstraal leidde de groepen langs te grote zandsculpturen en vertelde daarbij leuke weetjes. Even na 16.00 uur liep de middag ten einde en keerden de aanwezigen huiswaarts.

Donderdag staat de volgende activiteit in de agenda: dan bezoeken ruim 200 leden de jaarlijkse handtekeningenmiddag.
