Danny Menting wordt komend seizoen verhuurd aan SC Veendam. De spits maakt deel uit van de overeenkomst die FC Groningen sloot met de Oost-Groningers omtrent het Kolonistenplan. Shkodran Metaj gaat vier dagen op stage bij Dynamo Dresden.
Komend seizoen worden één of twee spelers door FC Groningen verhuurd aan SC Veendam in het kader van het Kolonistenplan van SC Veendam. FC Groningen was de eerste deelnemer van dat reddingplan van de Oost-Groningers.
Menting doorliep de gehele jeugdopleiding van FC Groningen en speelde de afgelopen seizoenen in Jong FC Groningen. In 2009 maakte hij driemaal als invaller zijn opwachting in het eerste elftal. Per direct gaat hij onder leiding van trainer Gert Heerkes spelen aan De Langeleegte. Op 16 juli aanstaande speelt de FC in Mussel tegen SC Veendam. Stage Shkodran Metaj gaat van donderdag tot en met zondag op stage bij Dynamo Dresden. De linksback/linkshalf doorliep eveneens de jeugdopleiding van Groningen en speelde tussen 2007 en 2011 in totaal 43 officiële wedstrijden in de hoofdmacht van de FC.
Dynamo Dresden promoveerde afgelopen seizoen als nummer 3 van de 3. Liga in Duitsland naar de 2. Bundesliga. De roemruchte club uit het voormalige Oost-Duitsland speelde in 1989 in de halve finale van de UEFA Cup, maar degradeerde in 1995 uit de hoogste Duitse divisie.
