Deze week zijn voor de jeugdteams van FC Groningen de diverse competities ook weer begonnen. In FC Groningen TV is er vanavond een kennismaking met de nieuwe selectie van RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur A1.
RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur A1 speelde deze week twee keer tegen PSV A1. Zaterdag voor de beker, woensdag voor de competitie. FCG TV was zaterdag aanwezig bij het bekerduel en maakte daar kennis met twee nieuwe spelers: Jafar Arais, afkomstig van AGOVV, en Joost Hommenga die vorig seizoen nog speelde bij Zeeburgia in Amsterdam.
Trainer Paul Raveneau is tevreden met de nieuwe spelers en heeft dan ook vertrouwen in een goed seizoen. De selectie sprak in ieder geval het vertrouwen uit dat een plaats bij de eerste zeven mogelijk zou moeten zijn. De bekerouverture verliep echter minder succesvol. PSV bleek met 3-0 te sterk maar dat kwam vooral omdat de Eindhovenaren al een paar weken langer in voorbereiding waren vanwege de afwijkende schoolvakanties.
Komende zondag speelt het elftal van Robert Maaskant tegen PSV. Het duel staat in het teken van de revanche van afgelopen zondag toen er tegen Willem II teleurstellend met 1-1 gelijk werd gespeeld. Voor Maaskant is het deze week niet duidelijk geworden wat er zondag in het begin van de tweede helft exact mis ging. Sommige dingen zijn, zoals hij het zegt, ‘onverklaarbaar’. Zeefuik hoopt in elk geval tegen zijn oude ploeg wel te scoren. Hij had deze week veelvuldig contact met Wijnaldum en Lens van PSV en liet ze weten dat ze zondag niet op een overwinning hoeven te rekenen.
Donderdagavond vond in Euroborg de heropening van de Businesslounge plaats. Zo’n duizend relaties van FC Groningen maakten op feestelijke wijze kennis met het fraaie nieuwe visitekaartje van FC Groningen. Met twee foodcorners, een ‘wijnbar’, een koffiebar en nog veel meer is het vanaf nu perfect toeven in Euroborg. FCG TV nam een kijkje bij de opening en proefde zelf mee van de bijzondere Groningse hamburgers van ‘Boer Peter’ uit Blijham.
LET OP: FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 17.55 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 2. De herhaling is om 22.55 uur en 00.55 uur op EL2. Morgen is FCG TV om 08.35 uur te zien op EL 1.
