Door twee liesblessures van Fredrik Stenman en Morten Nordstrand en de afschuwelijke beenbreuk van Danny Holla raakte de FC afgelopen week drie spelers kwijt. Daar tegenover staat de terugkeer van Luciano da Silva en Koen van de Laak bij de selectie.
De lijst van geblesseerden ziet er per vrijdag 12 maart als volgt uit: Sepp De Roover (kruisband), Ondrej Svejdik (kruisband), Petter Andersson (kruisband), Jeffrey Rijsdijk (knie), Danny Holla (kuitbeen), Theo Lucius (kuitbeen), Morten Nordstrand (lies), Fredrik Stenman (lies). Daarnaast zit Leandro Bacuna de laatste van drie wedstrijden schorsing uit.
Positief nieuws was er ook vanuit het medische front. Koen van de Laak is hersteld van de enkelblessure die hem de afgelopen vier duels aan de kant hield. Verder is doelman Luciano da Silva herstel van een knieblessure. Beide spelers sluiten weer aan bij de selectie, die bestaat uit achttien spelers. Onder die achttien zijn drie spelers uit de Beloften: Frank Olijve, Dennis Krohne en Pepijn Kluin. Laatstgenoemde is bij de groep gehaald omdat Tim Matavz donderdag ziek was. De topscorer was vrijdag wel weer op de training. Zijn fitheid wordt zaterdag voor vertrek naar Breda nog bekeken.
