Goran Lovre heeft donderdagavond in de slotfase van het uitduel met Utrecht zijn jukbeen gebroken. Fredrik Stenman liep een hamstringblessure op en zal de play-offs niet meer in actie komen. Vrijdag traint de eerste selectie niet op het veld.
Lovre kwam hardhandig in aanraking met de elleboog van Nana Asare en moest in de slotfase met een gebroken rechterjukbeen naar de kant. Het was een triest einde van de play-offs voor de Serviër, die daarmee op 149 officiële wedstrijden voor FC Groningen zal blijven steken. Lovre scoorde in totaal 28 treffers.
Fredrik Stenman viel tien minuten na de pauze uit met een hamstringblessure. Terwijl hij op de grond lag gaf hij al aan gewisseld te moeten worden, nog voordat verzorger Henk Hagenauw was gearriveerd. De Zweed zal dit seizoen niet meer in actie komen.
Oluwafemi Ajilore was in de tweede helft ingevallen en moest ook geblesseerd het veld verlaten. De Nigeriaan heeft sinds de uitwedstrijd tegen PSV last van zijn heup en heeft de afgelopen weken niet voluit kunnen trainen. Zijn inzetbaarheid in de thuiswedstrijd tegen FC Utrecht zal vrijdag en zaterdag worden bekeken.
