FC Groningen heeft zich versterkt met de Spanjaard Miguel Angel Leal. De verdediger wordt voor een seizoen gehuurd van het Spaanse Villarreal en kan op beide backposities uit de voeten. Leal gaat spelen met rugnummer 17 en was direct onder de indruk van het Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadion.
Miguel Angel Leal is afkomstig uit het Spaanse Villarreal en opgeleid door de plaatselijke subtopper uit de Primera Division. De verdediger kijkt uit naar zijn eerste minuten voor de Trots van het Noorden. “Het is een prachtig stadion, zeer indrukwekkend. Ik kan niet wachten om hier te spelen, met mensen op de tribune moet het een prachtige sfeer geven.”
Leal omschrijft zichzelf als aanvallende back die aan beide zijkanten kan spelen. “Ik ben een snelle speler, krachtig en heb een goede voorzet.
