Florian Krüger is speler van FC Groningen. De Trots van het Noorden neemt de aanvaller over van het Duitse Arminia Bielefeld. De Duitser zag Euroborg na zijn medische keuring voor het eerst en was onder de indruk van het stadion. Krüger kijkt er naar uit om zijn teamgenoten te ontmoeten, te spelen en samen successen te behalen.
Krüger speelde afgelopen seizoen 27 keer mee in de 1. Bundesliga en kwam dit seizoen vier keer in actie in de 2. Bundesliga. De aanvaller was afgelopen vrijdag nog invaller voor Arminia Bielefeld in de met 4-1 gewonnen thuiswedstrijd tegen Eintracht Braunschweig. De aanvaller heeft bewust de keuze gemaakt zijn loopbaan in Nederland voort te zetten. Zijn eerste buitenlandse avontuur.
“Ik ben blij hier te zijn en heb goede gesprekken gevoerd met onder andere de trainer,” zegt Krüger. “Dit is de juiste plaats voor de volgende stap. Ik volg de Eredivisie al jaren vanwege vrienden die in Nederland hebben gespeeld. Het is een competitie waarin aanvallend voetbal wordt gespeeld en dat past mij goed.”
Krüger is een multifunctionele aanvaller die op meerdere posities voorin kan spelen. “Ik heb in het verleden op verschillende posities gespeeld en het maakt me niet uit waar ik speel, als ik maar speel en van waarde kan zijn voor het team. Mijn belangrijkste doel is om goals te maken. Ik wil hier graag succesvol zijn en wil zo snel mogelijk mijn nieuwe ploeggenoten leren kennen en samen de strijd aan te gaan.”
De aanvaller maakte voor het eerst kennis met Euroborg en was onder de indruk. “Het stadion ziet er schitterend uit en ik kijk er naar uit om zondag hier te kunnen spelen. Afgelopen vrijdag heb ik nog een half uur gespeeld bij Bielefeld. Ik heb de afgelopen weken goed getraind en ben er klaar voor.”
