Vrijdagmiddag tussen 13.15 uur en 13.30 uur is er brand uitgebroken in een horeca-uitgiftepunt achter de Noordtribune.
De brandweer is na de melding naar Euroborg gekomen. Toen de uitgerukte brandweer even over half twee bij Euroborg arriveerde, was de brand reeds geblust door de goed werkende sprinklerinstallatie.
De oorzaak van de brand is een technische storing. Er is roet- en brandschade in het uitgiftepunt zelf, maar enkel en alleen in die ruimte. FC Groningen zal ervoor zorgen dat het horecapunt weer in optimale staat verkeert voor de komende thuiswedstrijd tegen Willem II op zondag 26 april 2009.
