RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur D3 vertrekt morgen in alle vroegte naar Schiphol om vanuit daar naar Liverpool te vliegen. Op uitnodiging van Stoke City FC speelt het jongste FC team morgenavond tegen de Onder-12 lichting van Stoke City. De contacten zijn gelegd door trainer Peter Hoekstra, oud-speler van Stoke City FC.
Het reisgezelschap bestaat uit 18 spelers en vier man begeleiding. Op zaterdag wordt er mogelijk nog een wedstrijd tegen een Engelse vereniging en anders wordt er getraind met de tegenstander van de avond ervoor.
Zondagmiddag bezoekt het team de topwedstrijd in de Premier League tussen Stoke City FC en Arsenal. Als klap op de vuurpijl mogen de jongens en trainer Peter Hoekstra zelf in de pauze van dat duel een ereronde lopen op het veld.
Zoals inmiddels te doen gebruikelijk bij buitenlandse reizen doet FC Groningen verslag van de belevenissen in Engeland. Elftalleider Kick Mulder zal dagelijks een reisverslag publiceren op deze website.
