FC Groningen TV kijkt vanavond vooruit naar de interland van Jong Oranje van komende woensdag tegen Jong Italie. Maar liefst vier spelers van FC Groningen maken deel uit van de selectie van bondscoach Cor Pot en daarmee is FC Groningen hofleverancier.
Virgil van Dijk, Johan Kappelhof, Leandro Bacuna en Genero Zeefuik zullen mogelijk allevier in actie komen in Leeuwarden tijdens de interland die in het teken staat van de EK-kwalificatiewedstrijd van 7 september tegen Oostenrijk. Dan heeft Jong Oranje aan een punt genoeg om zich definitief te plaatsen voor de playoffs om een EK-ticket. Mogelijk dat de doelp[unten van Zeefuik daarbij kunnen helpen. De spits heeft in negen interlands negen keer gescoord en staat daarmee op de vierde plaats van de eeuwige topscorersranglijst van Jong Oranje. Of Kappelhof zal spelen is nog even de vraag. De verdediger was vorige week licht geblesseerd en wordt vandaag tijdens de training getest of hij weer fit genoeg is om woensdag in actie te kunnen komen.
Jong FC Groningen is maandagavond de nieuwe competitie geod gestart met een 2-0 overwinning op FC Volendam. Danzij een benutte penalty van aanvoerder Tim Keurntjes en een doelpunt van Michael de Leeuw slaagden de beloften van FC Groningen erin de eerste drie punten in eigen huis te houden. De ploeg van trainer Dick Lukkien moet bij de eerste vier van de poule eindigen om in deel 2 van de competitie mee te mogen doen om het kampioenschap. De komende twee weken wachten voor Jong FC pittige tegenstanders: Ajax en AZ. Dan weten de beloften exact waar ze staan.
Het eerste elftal van de FC verloor zondag kansloos met 4-1 van FC Twente. Vooral Dusan Tadic speelde erg sterk tegen zijn oude ploeg. Voor de Servier was het een wedstrijd met gemengde gevoelens. Hij was blij met zijn spel en de overwinning maar vond het niet makkelijk om tegen zijn oude ploeggenoten te moeten spelen. Oluwafemi Ajilore maakte aan de kant van FC Groningen zijn rentree nadat hij vorig seizoen was uitgeleend. De terugkeer van Femi was niet van lange duur. Teleurgesteld moest hij na 35 minuten met een hamstringblessure naar de kant en werd hij afgelost door Maikel Kieftenbeld.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 18.00 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 1. De herhaling is om 19.00 uur, 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur te zien op EL 2. Morgen is FCG TV terug te kijken op EL 1 om 08.30 uur en 13.10 uur.
