Jong FC Groningen heeft ook de tweede oefenwedstrijd van het nieuwe seizoen gewonnen. In Borgercompagnie won de ploeg van trainer Erwin van de Looi met 4-2 van Jong BV Veendam. Bij rust stonden de Groningers nog met 1-0 achter.
De Groningse doelpunten kwamen op naam van Danny Menting (2x), Dennis Krohne en Robert Pomstra. Afgelopen vrijdag wonnen de Beloften al met 8-0 van Jong Sparta Rotterdam. Nog drie oefenduels In de aanloop naar de nieuwe competitie speelt het team nog drie oefenduels en één toernooi. Komende dinsdag, 28 juli, is Jong AZ de tegenstander in Gasselte. De aftrap is om 15.00 uur. Op zaterdag 1 augustus wordt om 19.00 uur afgetrapt bij Nederlands amateurkampioen WKE. Toernooi Op zaterdag 8 augustus neemt Jong FC Groningen deel aan het toernooi van Oliveo in Pijnacker. De oefenwedstrijd op woensdag 12 augustus bij Harkemase Boys is het laatste oefenduel en begint om 19.00 uur. Op maandag 17 augustus staat de bekerwedstrijd bij Jong Heerenveen/Emmen op het programma. Een week later begint de competitie met een uitwedstrijd tegen Jong PSV.
